Real barons and robber barons churned the green waters of Victorian Era America into a sea of opulence that spilled over into their Fifth Avenue mansions and "country cottages" in Newport. The Lodge Room -

TR rough-rode his way up San Juan Hill and into the Presidency at the dawn of the 20th Century, and even more than his big stick, he loved the outdoors -hunting, fishing, riding- at a time when his peers thought of roughing it as "high tea in the garden." If Teddy were here, he would feel right at home in this posh, society bunkroom. The Lodge Room also has a feather-top mattress on the queen-sized bed for you to "sink" into and be cooled by the ceiling fan above.

Squirrels chase each other up and around a giant oak, a butterfly flits among a maze of lilacs and hydrangeas in golden spring sunshine, a jackrabbit hops lazily along an old picket fence sniffing for goodies under an azure sky while you retire dreamily in your king bed, pondering nothing, cooled by the wafting breeze and cotton-ball clouds drifting overhead...more a feeling than a room. Although the private bath for this room is across the hall, have no fear; because we have wonderful robes for you to use--such a small difference to get the only room with the king bed!
